Yo.

I just picked up a new G&P M4A1 and I have to say it’s a very sweet airsoft gun! Everything except the sliding stock is full metal and it comes factory upgraded to shoot in the 110-115m/s range! 😀 The gun is about 20cm longer than my MP5 A5 (which was subsequently sold to make room for this bad boy) so it’s not as useful in a CQB (Close Quarter Battle) but I still have my trusty MP5K for that. 😉 On the field it’s a bit more accurate thanks to the longer “precision” barrel (6.04mm diameter) but it’s pretty heavy at 4.5kg to lug around all day. A three point sling is definitely on the list of things to buy… About the only thing I have to complain about the gun are the awful iron sights, those things are absolutely useless. During the day they’re difficult enough to use as the rear hole is tiny and in low light situations, it’s impossible to use those things. Luckily the handle is detachable and will be replaced by a red dot scope very soon.

While I’m not much of a fan for higher capacity magazines, the one that comes with the G&P M4A1 is alright. It’s a mid capacity mag and holds 130 rounds, at least there is no rattling or winding like with high cap magazines. I’m more of a mil-sim player and like to keep things realistic so most of the time I’m only going to load 30 rounds into mag anyway. Luckily the gun shoots hard enough to get through the brush outdoors so there will be less rounds deflected by the environment. On the way are an additional 8 magazines, heh I don’t spray and pray but 1 mag is definitely not enough for a game. Other goodies coming are a G&P M500A tactical light (a clone of the Surefire M500A) and a very sweet King Arms RDS.

From the reviews I’ve read about the G&P M4 series, it sounds like the tappet plate is the first thing to go so it looks like I’ll be opening up the mech box very soon but we’ll see. I have an upgraded tappet plate coming just in case the stock one fails in the near future.

Truth be told, I haven’t gamed with the M4A1 yet because I don’t have all the necessary gear (not enough mags and waiting for RDS) but I can’t wait to hit the field. My friend Mark will be joining me, I sold my TM MP5 A5 to him and he’s getting into airsoft hardcore. 😀 Haha, Maggie says I’m a bad influence and perhaps I am the dude has bought quite a few goodies already.

Hehe the last pic shows me in my combat gear and as you can see I’m pretty much ready to play I would usually paint my face but I’m not gaming, just posing. Hopefully I’ll be getting the mags and RDS next week then I’m ready to rock and roll! 😀 Man I look fat but a season of airsoft should slim me down. 😉
