A very full day!

So this morning I took Maggie’s car into Active Green & Ross to swap out Maggie’s tires, I made an appointment this time and it took just over an hour to complete.  Heh with the warm weather here, I can feel the tires melting.  Anyway after I returned, I picked up the family and we all went to Toys R Us to buy Brandon a gift for reading 100 books and our neighbor Nicholas for his upcoming 5th birthday.

At the store we saw a large Leo character from the 2012 TMNT cartoon series and Brandon loved it!  He wanted me to buy it for him, maybe if he does really well at school i will in the future but I have to admit it was pretty cool.  He ended up with the Jay Dragon from Ninjago and built it in the afternoon.

My dad’s side of the family had an early mother’s day gathering at grandma’s nursing home at 2:30pm, Estelle was late so we got there around 3 but luckily for us they hadn’t started yet.  I haven’t seen my dad since xmas, we didn’t talk much and I’m conflicted about it…  A part of me wants to work on repairing our relationship however the other half still thinks he’s a selfish jerk so I guess the status quo it is.

Grandma was very happy to see everyone, a few of my extended family members couldn’t make it but we had a good time and even though I know she’ll forget the whole thing 5 minutes after we leave I figure being happy must be good for her health. Unfortunately we only had the room till 4 but I was still glad we could spend some time with her. 🙂

After I dropped Maggie & Brandon off, I drove Estelle home and ugh traffic was terrible!  Typically the round trip is around 30 minutes but today it took me an hour and a half, I guess everyone’s out because it’s nice weather.

finally hooked up the house’s roof rain gutters to the rain catching barrel, I needed Maggie to help me secure the bottom faucet but the weather was poor (raining, cold, etc) the last few weekends or we were really busy, today we finally had time so I cut the run off gutter, installed a plastic moldable joint and woo it’s set.

We’re expecting 10mm of rain overnight and into the morning so I’ll check it out after our Beavers activity in the afternoon to see how much water has accumulated.  A very busy day but productive and enjoyable, looking forward to the Beaveree tomorrow!
