What a little bitch

Haha no not Brandon. 😉  Yesterday at badminton class there’s this 9 year old boy (named Jason) who’s much bigger than everyone else and always causes trouble and picking on the other kids.  Anyway while everyone was cleaning up, Jason was throwing birdies at the other kids and he started throwing them in B’s direction.  I try not to be the overbearing parent that protects my child from everything so I didn’t say anything about the first two birdies that sailed in B’s direction but he connected with the third shot, hitting B in the back and as Brandon turned around to see what was going on, Jason nailed him in the face.

That’s when I stepped in and told him to stop throwing birdies (Jason was teeing up another shot) and Brandon startled at being hit in the face (he got hit in the left side temple area) began to cry.  Instead of apologizing, Jason started to scream that it was an accident and started crying hard himself.  It made me feel like he’s one of those kids that stirs up shit then cries even harder than the victim to make it seem like he’s the one that was wronged.

The instructor came by to ask what happened and when I explained, he made Jason sit in time out and the facility called his mother.  After about 20-30 minutes, Jason was allowed to rejoin and soon his mom came by.  After hearing what happened she apologized, I told her that I understand kids will be kids but that it’s incumbent on Jason to watch out for the little kids, not the other way around (even though I do tell Brandon to stay away from the older kid).

On the way out, Jason’s mom made him apologize again to Brandon and he said “I’m sorry I hit you in the face by accident” and man did I want to smack that kid…  Obviously I didn’t and told Brandon to accept the apology because it’s important to accept them when someone says sorry.

Brandon enjoys badminton though he enjoys it less now that Jason is in his class and it’ll be interesting to see what happens next week.
