So this morning I took Ryan (a colleague from work) to Silverdale to shoot for the first time and I have to say I was rather impressed with how well he shot.  Typically most new shooters simply suck with pistols but he shot really well with the Glock 17 & HK  SFP9!  LOL if the world were to end and Ryan were with me I’d give him a pistol to use if need be. 😉  Anyway the staff set up a dueling tree & uh another steel contraption (obviously I don’t know what it’s called) and it was a lot of fun to shoot!

LOL I didn’t do that well but it was my first time. 😉 Anyway it was a lot of fun unfortunately it’s not going to be a permanent fixture of the field, it’s just a temporary thing as they’re doing some special even in two weeks but at least we got to try it out. After about 3 hours we went to the 200 yard line so Ryan could try shooting the DD MK18 at the metal gong and it was a good way to end the day. Hitting the gong is easy with the MK18 and the hits were so regular that he got bored.

Traffic on the way home was pretty good so after dropping Ryan off downtown I got home just after 2pm so I cleaned some of my guns and played with my camera.  In the evening I took a couple of pictures of Slinky then took Brandon to the school so he could ride his bike and here’s what I snapped.

I was using the 50mm f/1.8 for the pics with Slinky and the 24-105 f/4 to take pics of B. The rain clouds were above, it was a bit dark and my shutter speed was too low which is why some of the pics are blurry sigh I should have upped the ISO.  Oh well it was a really great weekend and I do feel very relaxed.
