A madman

So I’m sure as you’ve heard by now some crazy person shot up a gay nightclub and it sounds like he was one disturbed individual…

Today as I walked down Church St I saw a memorial outside a community center and it made me wonder why people care about what other people do so much.  Don’t like gays, then don’t be gay and live your own life! Unfortunately this guy shouldn’t have had access to a gun, he was interviewed by the FBI for gods sake about religious radicalism, the US government won’t let many of these people fly on planes but want a gun, yeah no problem.

As a gun owner it pains me to see more regulation but sometimes it’s a necessary evil to keep the wrong people from getting them and ruining it for the rest of us.

  1. As a strong supporter of the 2A I believe in the right to gun ownership. Having said that I don’t believe that having some procedural regulations to properly check the purchaser of a gun is so bad. I think it is a reasonable balance between the 2A and public safety to ensure that such means are in place. Unfortunately the Orlando shooter did not violate any of the current gun ownership requirements so he slipped through the cracks.

Don’t worry, once Trump is elected President he will have a fix for this. I bet he would ban anyone of the Muslim faith from gun ownership in the States 😉

  2. Gun ownership in Canada is obviously different, we don’t have a 2A to protect us so it’s a privilege instead of a right. With that said I agree some sort of regulation to stop the “wrong” people from getting guns is a must because this is happening too much. It’s a balance, it can be achieved but the two sides need to stop yelling at each other and give a little. Perhaps then there can be some progress, background checks or whatever because the status quo isn’t working. 🙁

  3. I’m afraid America has become too polarized to seek out common ground. It is sad but true.

Far too many people believe that more guns and zero gun ownership rules will protect America better. I’m afraid that the Wild West mentality is what will result.

  4. It really has, I blame one side more than the other but to be fair both sides of the political spectrum have been using it as a wedge issue to motivate their perspective bases to vote.

It’ll certainly be interesting to see how things play out.
