We got up this morning bright and early to meet some of Maggie’s friends at Cherry Avenue Farms and on the way, I asked Maggie if they’d be there at 9am like they said and annoyed, she answered yes. Well I had the last laugh because at 9:30 am, Maggie called one of the friends and was told that the cherry picking was on Sunday. Yeah that’s right, I wasn’t surprised because I feel both the husband and wife are idiots, twice I tried to meet the husband at Silverdale to go shooting at 9am (gets busy fast), one time he got to the range at 12:30pm and the other he just didn’t show up at all… We were invited to a dinner tomorrow night but I told Maggie forget it, we’re too busy for them. I don’t know what we’ll be doing but I certainly know I’m not going to waste my time with them any longer.
It wasn’t entirely a bust and we had a good time picking cherries, the weather was perfect and I did enjoy spending time with the family too.
There were step stools and ladders scattered throughout the farm and Brandon made it his mission to climb every single one. Seeing as how it’s Saturday there were a ton of people there so we had to move a good distance off the beaten path to get some decent sized cherries and it was totally worth it! I didn’t pick too many myself as I was trying to get some good pictures and I’m quite pleased with how they turned out. 😀 After about an hour and a half to two hours, we called it a day, rode the tractor to the cashier and drove back to TO.
We went to have some won ton noodles for lunch, not the place I really like but it was alright. We had to order two bowls because Brandon is now big enough to eat about 2/3 of a bowl himself while Maggie got some pork rib dish. After lunch we came home to pick up some things then went to Estelle’s place to visit Georgia.
She’s now 4 days old and very sweet like all newborns are. Her little cries didn’t even bother me though I guess it’s mainly because I don’t have to hear it often. Estelle was busy nursing when we arrived so Brandon was showing Megan & mom Pokemon Go and going through all the pokemon we’ve collected. When Georgia came down, Brandon was all excited to hold his new cousin and did a great job at being calm and supporting her neck the whole time. He was so proud that he’s the older one that has to look after her, he’s my big boy. 😀
A bit later when Estelle took Georgia to nurse, Maggie, B & I went for a walk along the Danforth and it was pretty great. Stopped by Baskin Robins for some very expensive but tasty ice cream then walked back, woo along the way I got to hatch two pokemon. When we returned, they were just putting her down for a nap and man babies are cute when they’re sleeping.
We left just past 4pm came home and relaxed. Maggie took Brandon to buy some groceries and I took the opportunity to paint my Blackhawk MICH helmet OD green, the tan was ok but I decided I wanted something a bit darker instead.
I considered a pattern but I think I’ll stick with solid colour and break it in by using and getting scratches on the paint, that’ll give it some character.
All in all a great day, a bit annoying to start but it’s always awesome when I can spend time with my family! God I must sound so boring when I say things like that but meh that’s alright with me.
