So if you haven’t heard about the Dakota Access Pipeline protests (since early summer) I wouldn’t blame you because there hasn’t been much coverage about it but it’s been a very peaceful movement and it’s the authorities siding with the corporation that’s been violent.  Anyway it’s been blocked by the US Army corps of engineers and that couldn’t be better news.

The pipeline runs through native American lands and under the Missouri river, protesters were worried what would happen to drinking water in case of a leak (pipelines always leak, it’s not if but when).  Anyway this is great news, while President Trump would approve this (he has financial interests in it), a lot of contracts are up before he’s inaugurated which potentially can scuttle the whole project.

Sigh the future of energy is green, North American society should embrace the movement, be the pioneers and lead the green revolution. Think about all the high skilled & good paying that we could have but no, corporations have thoroughly bought the US government though the people did win in this one instance.  It’ll be interesting to see what happens in the near future regarding this project.
