It was very windy on Friday, so much so that it was blowing shingles off rooftops and when I went to pick up Maggie after work, I noticed the light pole at the intersection was knocked down!
Hopefully no one got hurt, it wasn’t the only pole that fell over and there were quite a few trees that were toppled as well. On Saturday we went to Home Depot to pick up a new kitchen faucet, the copper pipes under my kitchen sink were corroded, sprung a leak and I need a plumber to replace it. I’d do it myself but everything is soldered in place and I don’t have the skills for that unfortunately but if I’m getting a plumber to change that I’ll get them to install a new faucet too.
In the afternoon I cleaned out the garage, took down all the xmas lights and mowed the front lawn. I wanted to mow the back but it started raining and I was feeling a bit lazy. I did however use my hedge trimmers to clear the hedge in the back and pulled some weeds too, ugh it never ends does it. When the weather was still nice, I also went up to my roof to inspect it for damage to the shingles and to ensure my panels were tight.
Thankfully everything up top was good. Some of my neighbors weren’t as lucky and I hope it’s not an expensive fix though with one, I could see the wood boards of their roof. 🙁
I also put out a bird feeder that Brandon painted.
Put some sun flower seeds down so hopefully birds (and the squirrels) see it and start eating from the front window. I placed it there because I figure it’d drive Slinky nuts. 🙂
Today we have our annual Beaveree in the afternoon and that’ll be fun, I just hope that the weather isn’t too bad and that the kids dress appropriately.
