So in 2016/2017 Brandon and I played Pokemon Go! pretty hard and grew tired of it in early 2018 which is great because now we have our weekends back lol. Yesterday after Brandon’s activities I mowed the front and back lawn, ugh it grows so fast in the spring. I also pulled some large weeds and prepared for the big job that we had today.
After lunch the boy and I went outside to what’s a massive mess of neglected chores over the last year and a half. He picked up the pine cones while I went behind my shrubs with the hedge trimmer and cut all the vines sprouting over my fence and strangling my plants. I did a half hearted attempt last year to do the same thing with a machete which didn’t work too well and the hedge trimmer is a lot more efficient! While back there I scratched up my legs a bit, I guess I won’t win any sexy leg contests but it was worth it.
Maggie came out a bit later and helped pull some of the vines off the plants and I also cut some branches off the large pine tree at the back off so it’s easier to walk around. Seeded a part of my lawn that had gone brown and with rain in the forecast, I hope it’ll turn green soon.
I also noticed that the winter was not nice to my rain catchment barrels. 🙁 They were drained of water last year but I guess something wasn’t sitting properly and one barrel fell which snapped the PVC tube that connected the two together. I didn’t have time to work on it this weekend so I’m hoping I can fix or rig something up together next weekend which happens to be a long one for us Canadians. 😀
Tired, but it was a pretty productive weekend!
