Since I don’t have work, I need something to do so this morning I went for a hike in the Rouge Valley Park. I love that place and it’s one of my happy places, and allows me to wander around in a forest while being close to the city. The weather was absolutely perfect at around -2C when I set off, cold enough that the ground was mostly solid and what’s best was even with my pack full of camera gear I didn’t sweat when climbing the hills. Along the way I took of course took some pictures and found something really special…
About 2 1/2 km into my hike I found two pine trees that were decked out in Christmas decorations and I have to say it was really cool. In fact I’m going to get Brandon to decorate an ornament so we can place it on the tree as well, then we’ll go back every now and then to check to see if it’s still there. 🙂 What’s nice is I found it was close to one of the park entrances so we won’t have to trek over some really large hills to get to this place next time around.
All in all I walked ~12k steps, around 6km in just over 2 hours and I have to say I really enjoyed myself.
Got a piece of good news today, Mersey will be coming by between 6-10pm to fix my furnace (thank god!) though I’ll be at the annual 5th Agincourt Christmas dinner. Maggie will be home though and if she need something I can be back home within 5 minutes. On the bright side Slinky was a bit puffier than normal and is pretty cute. 😉
