We took Brandon to see the How to Train your Dragon 3 and it was pretty good, we enjoyed the whole series and it was a great way to end the trilogy. I think the thing I like the most about the movies is that the main protagonist is always trying not to get into a fight, doing his best to exhaust other means before getting into conflict. It’s an important lesson that I think is very valuable for kids to learn.
Things were pretty busy for me the rest of the weekend, I sold 3 lenses and picked 1 up. Off to new owners were the Canon EF 50mm F1.8 STM, Canon EF 24-105 F4L IS USM & the Canon EF 17-40 F4L USM. I simply didn’t use the prime lens, the wide angle was too soft in the corners for me and I decided to let go my “everyday” lens because I hated the zoom creep while walking around and wanted something with a quieter IS for video.
The replacement for my everyday lens is the Canon EF 24-105 F4L II IS USM, yes in terms of optics it’s a very minor upgrade compared to the original version but more importantly the image stabilization is dead silent! I don’t take that many videos but it’s always bugged me that my rode shotgun mic can pick up the humming from my old lens and at least that won’t be a problem any longer.
Back to the grind today, this week is going to be hell at work and since I didn’t win the lottery I need to just deal with it lol.
