Since I had Easter Monday off I decided to take Estelle, Georgia & Brandon to the zoo and boy was it packed. Many of the parents in Toronto must have had the same idea but none the less we all had a great time. We’ll definitely need to go again when G is older, I don’t think she understood how magnificent the animals in front of her were, I know some people don’t like zoos but they can be an excellent tool for inspiring the young to care more about animals.
By luck we happened across the white lion habitat at feeding time and man they put on a great show.
How scary it must have been for our ancestors in Africa with lions around!
Brandon is also a great kid, he’s so gentle and looked after Georgia very well. He was rocking the Canon Rebel SL2 and took a bunch of pictures as well, many turned out great but I haven’t thrown them into LR to adjust light the light levels and stuff so I’ll upload those later but man I have to say it’s so satisfying to share photography as a hobby with him. He’s very much an artist and I found a lot of his pictures were great, I have better equipment and understand how to use it all but my 8 year old boy beats me in terms of artistic composition.
After dropping Estelle & Georgia off, we headed home and man traffic sucked. In the late afternoon Brandon made another paracord bracelet this time for his teacher while I added stabilizer to the fuel I store in the house, ran the snow blower empty, filled it up with stabilized fuel, ran it again to cycle in the system then topped up for spring to fall storage.
Now I’m just relaxing a bit before going to bed, sigh my long weekend is over but that’s alright it was very enjoyable. 🙂
