Since I was off today I decided to go to the bluffs to get some early morning shots and I think they turned out pretty well. 🙂
There are two photos that look similar but if you look at the second you can see that the water is silky smooth. I took the second with a 10 stop neutral density filter so while the F stop & ISO was the same, the shutter speed was 5 seconds and I thought it was pretty cool. The first two was with the Canon 24-70 F2.8L II while the rest were with the 16-35 F4L IS.
The ND filter is 82mm in diameter so I had to use a step down adapter which caused quite a bit of vignetting but I’m lazy and like the convenience of it.
A bit later in th emorning I traded a lady my Canon 24-105 F4L IS II lens for a Canon 70-200 F4L IS. With the new 24-70 F2.8L II, the image quality is just so much better that I knew I’d never use my old lens but I may actually lug the 70-200 F4L over the F2.8L since it’s half the weight. If I’m taking photos during the day, it’s pretty significant but I guess we’ll see. If I don’t, it’s also an extremely easy lens to offload so win win.
I played airsoft last night and came home late so in the afternoon today I cleaned my stuff and did routine maintenance on my grenades. One of the Tornadoes I think my be down permanently but I’ll play with it a bit more over the weekend and go from there. Jeremy & Eddy joined Jason, myself & Mathew from work and we dominated many of the games. Haha now that I’m older I don’t mind the easier wins…
Not sure what Maggie has planned tomorrow but I’m sure it’ll be fun and i love spending time with the family anyway. 🙂
