I’m a capitalist, in the last year we purchased 3 investment properties but this unfretted capitalism shit drives me up the wall.

As industry lobbying has escalated in Washington, companies have warned in private meetings with US trade and White House officials that giving up the intellectual property rights could allow China and Russia to exploit platforms such as mRNA, which could be used for other vaccines or even therapeutics for conditions such as cancer and heart problems in the future.

Uh that sounds pretty good to me, I don’t care who cures cancer or heart disease but I can’t forget that the pharmaceutical companies in the West need to make more and more money.  Absolutely ridiculous, the longer it takes to vaccinate the worldwide population, the greater chance that covid will mutate and breakthrough current vaccines.  God, Western companies and governments are so freaking short sighted and only ever worries about what happens in the short term.  No wonder we’re no where further on real systemic issues like climate change, racism or violence.
