I’m really starting to get turned off by Western society and how it takes advantage of the rest of the world. I guess I’ve grown tired of the hypocrisy, in the West we consume, consume and consume yet we’re the first to yell about other countries like China or India using up the Earth’s resources. Whether it’s oil or food, what gives us the right to dictate to others?

It doesn’t help that the Conservatives are in power, Canada has become a cheerleader for US Foreign Policy. Heck I’m almost surprised that we haven’t joined the US in Iraq yet… Nah that would get Mr. Harper kicked out of office but still I was particularly disgusted by how the Canadian Government tow the US line in the “Lebanon/Israel” conflict.

I consider myself a civilized person and do not agree with violence (real, not mock like airsoft ;)) however I can understand the mindset of extremists around the world. The way the Western world flaunts its power, how the governments act like a big child who has to always have its way, it’s just shameful.

I know it’s in our blood to fight amongst ourselves but what separates humans from animals (well some of us anyway) is our ability to control our urges and emotions. Bah honestly I think humanity is screwed. Whether we blow ourselves up or destroy the Earth there isn’t much hope for our pathetic species. I just pray I’m long gone before the end is upon us.

Don’t mind me, I’m just in a bad mood these days and wanted to rant a little.
