But Ambrose, in an often acrimonious appearance before the Commons environment committee, declined to spell out what will be expected of Canadian energy consumers or industry in the Tory plan. “It will clearly involve … short-term, medium-term and long-term targets,” she told MPs. “But what I will tell you is that this government will not set arbitrary targets without consultations with industry, provinces and territories.”

Angered by the lack of information, opposition MPs said the Tories are undermining the Kyoto Protocol on global warming and stalling on their pledge to replace it with an improved environmental program.

“I’m not sure why you came today. You don’t have a plan, no targets, no timeline,” said Liberal MP Pablo Rodriguez.

I don’t know about you but that sounds like a lot of “hot air” to me… Heh I don’t remember exactly what my friend Daniel said but it was something like “at least the Conservatives screw you to your face”.

Democracy sucks, the governments of the West (at least the parties that have a chance to get into power) only say and do what’s necessary to keep power.
