Airsoft Super Weekend

Overall I had an excellent weekend. 😀

Saturday morning I met Charlene at my place early (7:30 AM :() so we could go to a FlagRaiders field game. Seeing as how the outdoor airsoft season is fast coming to a close, I want to hit up as many outdoor games as possible before the weather turns cold. 😉 Anyway my task for the day was to test out my M14 tweaks, would it shoot better than last time? Since Charlene doesn’t have an AEG, she used my G36C with quite a bit of success and she played quite well.

The first few games were straight team elimination and I played alright, my M14 had great range and I got quite a few kills however I kept getting killed because of my positioning. Grr, I always start games slow. 🙁 The fourth game was were I started to have problems with my M14 and the gun completely seized up. I was furious with the thing and wanted to throw it into the garbage… I’ll get into later what was wrong (completely my fault I later found out) so I was left with just my Hi Capa 5.1 side arm on the field.

It turns out I wasn’t at much of a disadvantage with my pistol on the field. Yes I had limited ammo but range and accuracy of the Hi Capa 5.1 was awesome, it easily matched that of stock or moderately upgraded AEG’s! I demonstrated that to a bunch of guys during the pistols game. 😉

Highlight of my weekend below!

One guy didn’t have a sidearm and only had a bolt action sniper rifle (on the other team) and during the first pistols game he picked us quite easily because the two teams started far apart. Before the next game, some of my teammates were talking about how to take the sniper out first since he had pretty easy pickings the first time around. I could clearly see the guy and decided to take the shot. I had confidence in the accuracy of my Hi Capa 5.1 so I took my time to aim and bang. To everyone’s surprise (including mine) I was able to hit the guy and he must have been at least 100’ (guestimate) away! 😀 In all fairness I think the shot was wind assisted but that was definitely the best shot I’ve ever done, I’m not sure if I could have done it better with the M14 had it been working…

During regular play the Hi Capa 5.1 still performed very well. One time I was able to advance into the school bus (which is very easy to defend, hard to attack), I was able to take out 4 guys (around that I think) and even got to mercy Charlene. 😉

Here is the link to the pictures that were taken and here are a few teasers. 🙂

On Sunday I decided to take apart the M14 to find out what was wrong. What happened was the piston head cracked and shards of plastic jammed the gears. I have since replaced the piston head and its firing fine again. Hopefully I’ll be able test it out soon.

Sunday afternoon I spent at TTAC3 going through its ATQ2 course. It’s an intermediate player course which teaches CQB tactics in a two person group, how to clear rooms, how to attack T junctions and how to cover 360 degrees.

I didn’t get to take any pictures but Albert was able to take a bunch of videos with my camera. They turned out great but out of respect for Brian and his course, I will not post them online. If you want to learn, you should attend the course, its well worth it. 🙂

Anyway that’s how I spent my free time, aside from the stupid M14 it was great and dare I say close to a perfect weekend! 😀
