Yesterday Mark and I went to FlagRaiders to play a hostage scenario game, unfortunately only 11 or so of the 18 people who signed up were actually in attendance. There wasn’t enough bodies for Alex to run the thing he was planned so we just played simple skirmishes. With about 10-15cm of snow on the ground and a layer of ice on top, it was difficult to move for everyone.
As usual though, it took forever for everyone to get ready so five of us decided to play a simple skirmish at the drug lab. Initially I played with the CADPAT team against the guys in white (3 vs 2). During these games I played very aggressively almost always running for the drug lab first. It was much easier to be sneaky once inside because there was less snow so people could not hear you walk around. That’s how I was able to mercy Norrie twice. 😉 After two games, Norrie had a gun malfunction or something like that so I joined forces with Memel to even out the teams. With Mark on the other side, you can guess who I was gunning for…
Knowing a bit of Mark’s playing style I decided to take the high road and went onto the second floor of the drug lab, sure everyone would know where I am but I have the advantage of being higher. Anyway I saw him trying to sneak his way around the perimeter so I lit the guy up with a short burst. The game had respawns but I didn’t camp their respawn point so Mark could move around. He went around the other side this time and we engaged each other for about 30 seconds. While he was reloading, I decided to move positions and in my luck I saw his back so again I fired a burst and got him out. 😀
After Mark was out I went downstairs to help memel flush out the other CADPAT player. As I was exiting the drug lab I saw the other guy but unfortunately my gun was out of ammo. Pulling on the mag the steel part actually separated from the plastic portion of the magazine and broke. 🙁 I would have went on but with my main weapon down and my Hi Capa 5.1 useless because of the cold, I called myself out.
That was the highlight of my day, in the afternoon I played very poorly. With the snow on the ground, it was difficult to learn how the CA M15A4 CQB performs, oh well that just means I’ll have to game with it more outside. 🙂 I did like the weight and size, it allowed me to get around pretty quickly and easily. However after getting use to the CA MG36, I have to say I got pretty spoiled and forgot about ammo conservation. That and changing mags was almost new territory to me again. 😉
In the afternoon Mark was able to even the score and killed me twice, haha the big loser even sprayed me in the face once. In the cold the shots seem to hurt a lot more and his stock TM Aug seemed to fire very hard. Overall I had a good time and I’m glad Mark dragged me out to play.
Next time out (if there is a next time) I have to wear a wind breaker inside my camo. During the down times my arms got very cold to the point of being numb. Here are a few various pictures that I snapped. Here’s the link to the rest of them.
Haha I’m a wuss and if the next couple of field games are this cold (or worse) I think I’ll sit them out. I have CQB action to keep my airsoft fix in check anyway. 🙂
Wouldn’t call it being a wuss. Might be best to save your equipment from the cold.
Haha well the equipment can handle the cold, it’s me that can’t. It’s alright I know I’m not as tough as I could be, perhaps I should use this to motivate me to get into shape and buy proper winter gear. 😉
