Joined the grenadier club

On Friday I went to TTAC3 for some CQB action with my new CA M203 grenade launcher (attached to the CA M15A4 CQB). Joining me was Jia from work and his friend Tommy along with Mark, Charlene and Mike. šŸ™‚ There were ~20 players so it was another big night and we were playing ā€œtactical scenariosā€ which means everyone gets shot a lot, newbie and veterans.

In the first game grenades were not allowed as the main objective was to guard/capture the VIP. I played pretty well and got quite a few kills but unfortunately my team always jumped the gun too early. Either firing too soon when defending or extracting the VIP at the first gun shots, I don’t think either team scored an official win. That’s ok though everyone had a lot of fun (even if some of us took things a bit too seriously). Heh Jason shot Carl in the forehead with the pulse rifle and it left a huge welt!

Alan happen to shoot Carl within 2 cm of the original wound before the night was over, OUCH! Jason and Alan are good guys and don’t go head hunting but hey, sometimes it happens.

During the second half of the night the scenario was attack and defend again with a VIP, this time around we were allowed to use grenades. šŸ˜‰ Oh man it was so much fun fire that thing even tough the grenades I’m using are only hold 18 rounds. One time I blasted Mario almost point blank, luckily he was wearing a vest and said it didn’t hurt. If I had known he was so close I wouldn’t have unloaded into him like that.

I ended the night a bit early, later I was a bit frustrated because I kept getting killed by friendly fire (my count was 4 times) and it always took so long for everyone to get set up. Still all in all I had a great time and was really happy to see so many familiar faces. šŸ™‚

On Saturday Mark came over with his Aug and MP5 for me to work on and that was fun. With the Aug we installed Guarder metal bushings, a Guarder ball bearing spring guide and a Guarder SP100 spring. After that was done the TM Aug Civilian was shooting a nice 370 fps. To boost the fps slightly closer to 400 fps, we’re going to swap out the spring for a Guarder SP110 that I’ll pick up on Monday.

Mark’s TM MP5 has been plagued by a feeding issue pretty much since he got it. The problem was isolated to the hopup unit and really the only fix is to swap it out. The ICS MP5A4 I picked up recently didn’t have that issue so I decided to swap the hopups to see if that would fix Mark’s problem.

I am happy to report that Mark’s MP5 is now firing just fine, gone are the feeding issues. As you can see with the TM hopup, there’s an extra lip inside, I wonder if that’s the problem… I haven’t put together the ICS MP5A4 yet because well I’m tired. šŸ˜‰

Since Mark was over with his MP5, we decided to install the CA M203 onto it and I have to say, it doesn’t look bad! Haha I told Mark he should get one too but he resisted. The dude did pick up an upgraded metal KSC M11 though and it’s pretty sweet. Mark has wanted one for quite some time and it was an excellent deal, $175! That would cost well over $400 if he bought the gun and parts new and best of all it’s in excellent condition.

I’ll probably check it out tomorrow, going to TTAC3 for more CQB action. I want to fire off the grenade at people a bit more and Mark’s suppose to be coming too. I guess we’ll see how things go then, will take some pics. šŸ™‚
