Brr…

Last night I arranged to have dinner with my father and bailed about 1/3 way to his home. Most of the street lights were down so there were huge traffic delays everywhere, that and many people are not observing the 4 way stop rule which was frustrating so I decided to go home instead and not risk being on the roads any longer and save myself some aggravation. During the ride, I saw what appeared to be 3-4 separate transformer explosions in the distance all around me, very bright green, orange and white flashes. Sigh I definitely feel for the folks working at Toronto Hydro, it’s two steps forward one step back and there’s still the potential for outages as the wind could snap more branches…

This morning I decided to take a walk and man was it a cold one… I wanted to take some pictures of the trees in my neighborhood and it was fun.

In the picture where you see my boots, I’m standing on the ice on top of about 15 cm of snow in my front yard and yes it’s supporting my weight! I definitely count myself lucky as when I was walking around I saw some trees that fell on my neighbors houses, I was definitely spared the worst of it!
