Well when you have nothing else to lose, try to scare the public to go your way… Politicians especially in the US have used this tactic quite (unfortunately) well and now the “Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers” are doing the same.
The Detroit auto industry is targeting soccer moms with a fear-mongering radio ad about the safety concerns of small cars. The ad, paid for by the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers, features two SUV driving moms worrying that Congress may soon make it harder for them to buy their next gas guzzler.

Does the big 3 manufacturers not get it? Why do they have to continue building such large wasteful cars, then try cram it down everyone’s throats in the name of safety?!? I just hope the American public is not naïve enough to fall for something like this, in case you missed it here is the retarded radio ad.
People who think like that are the ones who don’t get it, and the “real answer” to our energy problems can only be solved by consuming less!
*Grumble* If saftey’s their main concern, stop manufacturing car’s that can do over 220MPH, hows that? Our speedlimits in Canada and the US are 100 Kph / 85 MPH – why do they have to have super crazy torqued out engines that clock more than that? Plus F’in minivans, what saftey? Put tv’s in the back to ‘occupy’ kids, but it ends up distracting the driver when kids want their movie changed, or the people in the car behind them that get transfixed by pretty moving pictures, not only that but thier a fucking obstruction on the road, you cant see around them, then inevitably (driving a smaller car) get boxed in by these monsters and cant get around them, accident’s up ahead or anything on the road you got no clue about, they slam on their breaks, you have no visual and kablammo and safe? No car’s made with metal anymore, all poly plastics that crinkle and crack where it’s cheaper to write off a car then it is to fix it…
if people learned HOW to drive, keep with speed limiits and all that we wouldn’t have this problem…
f’in suv’s.
