There was a zombie game held at FlagRaiders on Saturday night and man it was a great game but I guess I’ll start at the beginning. Charlene picked me up at around 3PM then we hit up Mark’s place. Mark and I have been friends for about 7-8 years now yet I’ve never been to his place before, the bastard! 😉 Anyway his folks have a pretty nice home and it was cool to see his pad finally.
You can’t drive by the smile and not smile yourself. 🙂
After the grand tour we left his place at around 4:30PM only to have to turn around and because Marky forgot to put on his contacts. Anyway back on our way at around 5PM, I got to see Charlene drive err well aggressively. Apparently she doesn’t like it when there’s someone in front of her. 😉
We were first on the scene and got to the field at around 6:30PM so we just chilled, slowly between then and 8PM people started to arrive. As a member of the “Geeks” squad my team had to fortify the main drug lab building, since there were a ton of large window and many door sized entrances, we elected to give up the first floor to focus on the second. There are only three stairways into the drug lab so we tried to make it as difficult as possible to get up by using barrels, shipping skids and other movable objects laying on the field.
We thought we did a pretty good job with things and it was about as secure as we would get with the amount of time we had available. The group went back to base camp to get the final instructions and the game started at 9PM.
For the first 10 minutes or so we were shining flash lights at the other teams across the field, hey we’re just screwing around right. 😉 Later I think it was Mario who mentioned that he saw movement in the forest so the zombies would be attacking us first. Shortly after we hear Jessie scream “THEY’RE ATTACKING THE MIDDLE BARRACADE!” Jason Jessie and I just watched with our guns drawn for about 10 seconds, then the dude goes away. Knowing we have to inspect the damage and reinforce it, we go down and man half our barricade was torn down already!
I told Jason to get some supplies so we can rebuild and held the position. When Jason we had to put our guns down to tie things back together and that’s when the zombie pounced again. This time around he was able to throw one of the barrels (which were duct tape together) down the stairs and push the shipping skid down on top of me. It struck me in the head and actually stunned me for a few seconds, after that Jason and I ran back upstairs.
With our guns drawn the zombie started to make its way upstairs and we both unloaded a ton of BBs into him. Oh to make things easier, zombies cannot die unless they get hit with a melee weapon (which none of us had) and BB’s only stun them for 30 seconds. Once a zombie gets back up, they get 5 seconds of invincibility which makes things easier for them. Anyway there was a zombie on the second floor and our other two barricades held so well the 7 of us were trapped. Dave yelled “EVAC” and him, Jessie and I ran down the middle stairwell while the zombie chased Mark, Mario, Jason and Alan around.
When we got to the bottom of the stairs we could see the Corporate team and man were we happy to see them, there were a lot of those guys so the zombies have more targets to pick. Officially Dave, Jessie and I were captured by the corporate team however they failed to bind us or take away our weapons. Dave was “executed” for trying to escape and Jessie was shot when I was struggling with another operative so that just left me. They put me in the school bus and I sat there for a few minutes, Alan and Jason were also captured and followed shortly. Since I was still armed and had a knife, I could officially unbind Alan and Jason (we still had our weapons). Charlene started to question Jason then sat at the foot of the bus making chit chat. With my rubber knife in hand I walked by and mentioned to her that “you’re dead now”, she turned around to look and yelled “god damn it!” LOL it was the best knife kill I ever got and totally made my night. Another corporate member was set to guard us so I shot him but the rest of their team didn’t notice. Patrick was next, I took him out and then Shawn (it was so satisfying), then the three of us made our escape.
During my run I dropped a Hi Capa 5.1 and 4.3 mag, oh well losing gear is bound to happen, luckily for me someone found my 5.1 mag later on. That was the highlight of the game for me, the rest of the night I ran around with the federal forces either equipped with my Hi Capa or the TM shotty. From time to time we made alliances with the corporate team to fend off the zombies then kept screwing each other . I made it within 5 minutes of the end of the game but then Patrick shot me because the corporate team was planning on taking out the surviving feds grr…
I didn’t take too many pictures because it was at night and I was busy playing but here are a few pics of the zombies and other stuff.
Those were just two of the L2 zombies that were at the game. Man things were really intense and that initial attack on the drug lab was actually scary! Kudos to Matt for playing it up his role and for being such a good sport. Sorry about the lack of pictures but again it was night and I was busy playing. There was someone taking videos and when it’s up, I’ll post a link.
Another zombie game will be up soon and I SO can’t wait for that one. 😀
I had a great laugh reading this blog.
First off, in regards to fast driving, lol as in the minivan post you made, @$#%$# I hate being stuck behind obtrusive objects! Gargh that drives me nuts when all I see is damn minivans all around me!
Otherwise, for anyone reading, this event was amazing, while the geek team was busy doing their thing, corporates swept in for a damn near perfect entry snatch n grab. I had Patrick and Shawn on my op’s team the second game got started the other Corporates said we almost damn near vanished we booked it so fast to the lab.
Our first obstruction was their ropped off entries, what a pain in the ass! I heard Duffman got clotheslinned when he tried running into the east entry of the lab and got knocked to his ass!
We werent sure at this point if they had perimiter alarms as we did back at camp so Patrick carefully but quickly cut all lines and we advanced without problem to the first floor of the lab. More ropes to cut, more quick room clearings, fully stealthy, sneeky and quiet. We managed to find the syrum antitode for the zombie virus and the intel briefcase, I tossed the syrum to Shawn and yelled for him to get the fuck out juuuust as right above our heads we hear a big ‘RAAWRRR’ and somethig go flying down the stairs right where Shawn was, it’s later discovered that this was the barricade where the Zombie was trying to rip down – We were right beside the guy and he didnt see or notice us cause he was too busy scaring the crap and trying to get to the geeks on the second floor.
I grabbed the intel case as we heard gunfire and a bunch of words I never thought would come out of Colin or half the Ghosts mouths followed by screams and with a quick ‘go’ we booked it out, at the same time we did a successful rendez-vous with our other Corporates that were on the East side collecting prisoners.
With a quck hussle and congratulations we made it back to base just as the Feds were working their way to find a half empty zombie filled drug lab… (whaha suckers!), soon after the rest of the Corps joined up with their prisoners. Jason profusley going on about being bound.. grr stupid me I just assumed they were all bound so flopped down to catch my breath, chill and revel in one of the best entries that I’ve done to date.. in that moment an arm comes around me and I hear ‘your dead’ … damnit Colin indeed!
It was a good one and it was dumb of me to have not checked them or anything. Lol – deadman cant talk so I went to go flop grumblie by a few buildings to respawn, but laughing cause it was a good one on Colins part, team mates walking by trying to figure out why in hell I was sitting around.. all I could do was hold up my turned off glow stick hoping that Someone would take indication that something wasnt right.. sure enough I hear a ‘bang’ and Patrick comes walking off the bus, and in that moment 3 little white labcoats go billowing in the breeze by while the geeks book it out of camp, a few shots followed but no one got a hit on them, funny but frustrating, the comedy of the situation still won.
theres so many memories and stories ont his game, will update on my end cause i can.. and i dont feel liek working :p
