Here’s global warming for you

I wanted to blog about this on Saturday but unfortunately I was quite busy on the weekend. Anyway to those who say global warming is a myth, here you go. For the first time, the Arctic North West passage is now open. 🙁

This route runs along the Canadian Arctic coast, and potentially offers a shortcut between Europe and East Asia. Until now, however, it has remained iced over even during the summer. But a record-low level of ice cover this year means the route is now navigable, as images released by the European Space Agency reveal.

The effects of global warming are most pronounced at the Arctic and Antarctic regions of the world, essentially they are our early warning systems and the bells are going off! I just worry now that there is a shortcut between the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, that corporations and the governments of the world will “take advantage” and use this route for shipping.

It’s not too late for us to curb our bad habits but time is running out quickly. Every little bit does make a difference, make sure you do your part.

  1. Careful, you’re falling behind on the position of the global-warming deniers. Now they’re all supporting that global warming is real, they just won’t accept that it’s our fault.

I might just be in one of my fatalistic moods today, but dude, we’re going to have to accept it. There’s no turning back here, the world is just too stupid to turn around now. We have to accept that it’s going to get really ugly, really soon and that the millions of blissfully ignorant will blame “god” for all of it 🙂

When it comes down to it though, I’ll make sure I have room in my lifeboat for you 🙂

  2. Hey Daniel, how is Europe, you haven’t updated your blog in a few days and we’re all wondering about you. 😉

God eh? Hmm well I have some beefs with that dude perhaps I should blame my ails on the “supreme master” too LOL!
