Too easy…

Everyone in my circle knows I’m an athiest so maybe it’s the time of year or something but man there are a lot of religious nuts coming out of the woodwork even among my friends! That’s fine I don’t mind smashing to pieces their primitive beliefs into the dust with logic and reasoning, Maggie asks me why I bother and my response is that I feel I should do my part to rid the world of ignorance and stupidity.

Anyway with that said I saw this and man barf…

Sorry but if you haven’t heard Evolution by the means of natural selection is the gold standard to scientific theories. Also when a scientist calls something a theory, it’s different from when you or I use the word (it’s not a freaking guess)… A scientific theory is a hypothesis that evidence supporting it and with evolution, our latest cutting edge technology is proving it right. There is no such thing as a law in science despite what we may call gravity, it is incorrectly called Newton’s law of gravity despite it being wrong on at the small, largest and fast scales.

I wanted to talk briefly about “transitional fossils” that creationists like to say are missing, here’s a hint all fossils are transitional! Life continuously evolves from one to another so everything you see is in transition when you look at it at geological time scales. Also they’re present in many branches of life and so what if we’re missing some fossils? We’ll find them sooner or later, why bother do anything when the answer is god did it.

Next I saw this article on Salon magazine…

The museum’s goal: portray a biblical understanding of creation, and dispute the widely accepted theory of evolution. According to the Idaho Statesman, it has exhibits “about life on Earth as created by God in six days, about 6,000 years ago.”

“We want to show a lot of science that’s being censored and not presented to the public,” the museum’s executive director, Doug Bennett, told the Idaho Statesman. “Show both a biblical perspective and a naturalistic perspective on items, on fossils, on ancient technology, on that sort of thing.”

“Skeptics say, ‘well, how could Noah bring dinosaurs on the ark if they’re that big?’ And I agree,” a curator tells two kids.

“But yet they found a baby diploducus in Argentina — a complete skeleton, 27 inches long,” he continues. “Noah, being the smart man he was … he’s going to bring a baby or young one along that’s gonna live longer, reproduce a lot more.”

FFS!!! The biblical perspective is not science!!! Am I being unreasonable, am I missing something fundamental here?!? I mean the freaking bible is based on beliefs, that’s why they call it faith leave that out of science… Frankly when someone tells me they’re religious or a person of faith, the first thing that pops into my mind is that this person is an idiot and will believe something based on no evidence.
