I certainly heard Brandon say that a lot lol… Today I took the family and my mom to African Lion Safari and it was about as perfect a day as I could ask for@ We left the house around 8:30AM and got there as the park was just opening which was great as we didn’t have to wait in line very long to get in. 🙂 As we drove around it was fun to watch Brandon’s reaction when he saw new animal after new animal often asking “What’s that daddy?” though he knew already as he’s seen a ton of animal pictures and videos.
The drive around the safari took about an hour and was totally worth it, we were extremely happy because most of the animals were up and about. Previously when we’ve went there the larger animals were usually sleeping and laying in the shade but today they were moving around and it was awesome.
After we finished with the game reserve we were fortunate to get a parking spot right at the entrance of the park. After eating an early lunch we walked around and saw a bunch of animals, lol Brandon didn’t like the smell of manure (lol who does right) so we didn’t spend a lot of time playing with the animals that were out and about. At 12:30PM we went to see the elephants go into the water and it was great!
The elephants waded in the water and ended up right in front of us and it was so awesome!!! We really couldn’t have picked a better spot, they were maybe 10 feet from our position in the water playing and just being cool, Brandon definitely loved it. 🙂
A bit later we saw the parrot show which was fun and nice, we wanted to see the other shows too but you could tell Brandon was super tired and he wouldn’t make it so we decided to go ride the elephant and call it a day.
We got back mid afternoon and hung around the house… Maggie and I got sun burnt but Brandon is ok, being in the sun is tiring and I’m really looking forward to bed tonight lol. I was telling Maggie earlier, today was the closest thing I’ve had to a perfect day and I was super happy. 🙂
