One thing nice about my company is, for every holiday I get an extra day so I had Monday off as well which made for an awesome 4 day long weekend. I guess I’ll start at the beginning, on Saturday we skipped Brandon’s soccer practice because he was still feeling a bit under the weather. For lunch we met up with one of Maggie’s former coworkers and it was nice to get to know her. After that I dropped Maggie and Brandon off to go pick up some ammo on Sunday as per this post. When I got back I did a bit of yard work mowed the front lawn and pulled some weeds, I don’t like gardening but I can’t stand the sight of weeds and I’m still fighting the infestation of Canadian thistle, it’s not as bad as earlier in the year but i have to keep at it or else it’ll grow back and take over my lawn.
Brandon was a bit fussy, he’s crying a lot these days which is annoying and I snapped this picture because it’s fun. 🙂
A bit later in the afternoon my mom came over so Maggie and I could go out to watch the new Transformers movie. A friend told me it was stupid but I thought it was alright, not particularly deep but lots of explosions and big fighting robots, what’s not to like?!?
Sunday I went to Silverdale with a friend and his gf and it was fun. I got sun burn but meh that’s how it goes, didn’t do anything in the evening as I was a bit dehydrated and tired so we just spent a quiet afternoon/evening at home.
On Monday Brandon went to day care and Maggie went to work so I was home by myself. No biggie, I monitored my emails and cleaned my guns so I was productive at least. Just before picking up Brandon I went to vote in my local by election, I voted Liberal and my candidate won. Frankly I was pretty sure he’d win anyway because my riding has been Liberal for the past 30 years but anyway I did my civic duty.
Instead of going home after picking up the boy, we went to Tim Hortons to get some frozen lemonade and he loves that. 🙂
Hehe it’s so easy to keep him happy and I think he’s got the sweetest smile… Maggie got home just before we made it back and I suggested that we go out to eat instead as I was feeling lazy for Maggie, 😉
When we got home, I installed the gen 4 grip onto my airsoft TM Glock 18C and I think it turned out well.
Today Maggie wanted to go shopping so we went to the Eaton Center and she was happy. We went in the morning and parking & the crowds weren’t too bad, to keep Brandon from being fussy we caved and bought him a new toy.
He’s starting to get into Power Rangers, a show I think is pretty stupid so I’ll try to steer him away from that as much as I can. He didn’t take an afternoon nap so we were playing and closer to 3PM, Maggie took him to the park so I could do some more yard work but this time in the back yard. God I hate weeds, it’s not super bad as I’ve been on it but it’s a lot of work and I wish I didn’t have to do it… Later in the week I’ll also get something to prune the branches off the pine tree in the back yard, I think I’ll remove the lower ones so I have more yard space for Brandon to run around.
The rest of the afternoon evening, Maggie and I rotated watching Brandon… A fun filled weekend, I certainly enjoyed it and am sad that it’s over but hey at least this week’s only 3 days!
