As I sit here on a Sunday night, I look back at a very interesting weekend. First my Bell Sympatico internet and ExpressView TV service both went down sometime on Friday so that meant for the whole weekend I was offline and without TV. Despite those two err major things (I guess in the grand scheme of things they’re not big but hey I like TV and to surf the internet ;)), I felt that I had a pretty good weekend.
I’ll start at the beginning, on Friday night I hit TTAC3 for some quick and dirty CQB action. Overall I had a great time, I was a bit rusty and you could really tell when looking at my positioning. There were a few blips, Vince popped up from behind a half height barrier and shot me in the forehead point blank (gun was about 5cm from my face). It was basically blind firing (quite dangerous, which is why we’re not supposed to do it) and left a huge welt on my forehead. I was initially pissed off but I remembered that in terms of airsoft experience, Vince is still a bit of a newbie. Next I was shot in the neck by someone shooting through cracks (against the rules) and it hurt quite a bit because again it was at very close distances.
Despite the few bleeders I received, I still had a good time and it was fun to see the usual gang. 🙂 Heh thanks to Stephen and Helene for the belated birthday gift, it was very nice of you two but not necessary. 😉
Saturday Mark, Charlene, Maggie and I met up in the early afternoon for a late lunch and movie. As a videogame fanatic, it should be fairly obvious which movie I saw, if you still don’t know well… it was Hitman. We had a bite to eat at Montana’s, heh I had the suicide wings our waiter thought I was nuts. I have a pretty high tolerance for spicy foods and had no problems vanquishing the eight wings that were my challengers. 😉 Heh they even had the staff sing me a birthday song.
Sorry about the blurry picture, Maggie doesn’t know how to take pictures well…
I was expecting Hitman to be lousy because most videogame movies are quite poorly done but I have to say with low expectations, the movie turned out to be ok. I enjoyed looking at the various AKs (tactical AKs are not cool) and Russian gear. Overall the film was quite predictable but enjoyable the firefights and so forth.
On Sunday I did fairly little, with no TV and no internet I played some videogames and spent some final quality moments with Simba. My parents had gotten back from their five week cruise Saturday night and my dad wanted the cat back. I also spent some time fondling and tweaking my guns, that’s always fun, watched a couple of movies with Maggie and that’s it.
It would probably be rated as a “boring” weekend but to be honest I feel quite refreshed! I’ll go to bed early tonight and post this update first thing tomorrow when I get into the office. 🙂
