Great snow…

This has been a pretty busy weekend, yesterday was what I affectionately call Brandon day and he certainly doesn’t disappoint. At swimming he’s getting better at holding his breath and putting his face into the water though he’s a bit lazy and doesn’t kick very hard when being dragged through the water by the instructor. He’s making some great progress with skating though and now is able to get up with ease, also as he walks across the ice he’s going fast enough that he’s starting to glide! Haha I couldn’t be more proud and I absolutely love watching him on the ice as he’s improving by leaps and bounds!

Saturday night I was a bit “bad”, a lot of the local gun retailers mentioned that prices are going up with the plunging Canadian dollar (thank you very much Mr. Harper) so I purchased a hardwood Russian 1953 SKS online for $210 with taxes and shipping from Westrifle. Why, I don’t really know I guess I have a soft spot for the rifle because it’s such a great value and it shoots 7.62×39 so it can share bullets with my CSA VZ-58.  I don’t know how much I’ll shoot it but another gun in the safe is always a good thing right?!? 😉

I’ll leave this thing completely stock, it’s definitely an ugly gun but it’s ugly in a way that I like and the SKS is just so much fun to shoot.  Hopefully it ain’t caked in cosmoline, it’s a pain to remove but I guess for the price I shouldn’t complain.

Today Maggie and I went to Buffalo to do some shopping for her father & brother.  She’s taking Brandon to China for Chinese new year (I’m stuck here like a chump) and they wanted her to get a few things. Anyway 6 hours and $1,500 US later on the way back I got to drive through a snowstorm and that was kind of fun.  Truth be told while there was accumulation on the roads it was pretty easy as everyone was going slow and unless you changed lanes often, the cars in the lane in front of you cleared two tire tracks.

We got home mid afternoon and took it easy for the rest of the day.

Oh and just because I can, here are some random pictures I’ve taken of Brandon over the last week. 🙂

Even though he insists he’s a big boy, Brandon is and will forever be my little angel.
