TulAmmo 5.56×45

Last week I ordered 500 rounds of 5.56×45 55gr HP ammo from TulAmmo, received it today and absolutely can’t wait to give it a go.  I’m trying to find another cheap source of 5.56 ammunition since the surplus Norinco ammo I’ve been shooting has pretty much dried up, this seems next best at ~$0.42 a shot (Norinco was around $0.35) and with the way I shoot, cheaper is definitely better.

It’s Russian made ammo, again it’s a 55gr hollow point bimetal (steel & copper) bullet in a polymer coated steel case.  From the reviews I’ve read online, the ammo should be decent though since steel doesn’t expand as well and as quickly as brass it’s dirtier.  We’ll see, the Norinco ammo was pretty darn dirty too and while I still have 2 cases of that stuff, I’m glad I’m trying something else.  Next Friday I’m going to the range with a coworker and will report back on how this stuff feeds and cycles through the MK18. 🙂
