Where’s the elected senate?

Mr. Harper has always griped about how undemocratic (that’s the in word these days) the appointed senate is and what’s does he do with the threat of losing power, he appoints 18 senators. That’s just great.

Harper, who in the recent election campaign promised either to reform Senate by capping terms at eight years, or to abolish the body altogether, has resisted filling the vacancies.
