Yesterday I went to the range with Tim and despite the downpour in Toronto, it was quite pleasant at Silverdale. 🙂 He shot very well for a novice and I certainly was impressed, I think he’s starting from a higher level than when I did but then again that’s not too hard lol. Didn’t take as many pictures of him as I did videos and well I’m not going to post videos of others shooting without their permission so you’ll have to settle with me shooting the Daniel Defense MK18 & the HK45CT at the action range. Distance is ~10 yards and the steel plate is 6″ in diameter in the bunker, 6/8 wasn’t my best but it was the only decent one on video lol…
Despite the forecast, it actually wasn’t raining while we were at Silverdale which was nice, though it was very wet. No big deal though, both Tim and I were prepared for the weather with waterproof boots and goretex tops and bottoms. The temperatures weren’t high but I was nice and toasty, ahh to being prepared. 🙂
We left the range at around 12PM, I wanted to have Tim shoot at the steel gong at the 200 yard line but unfortunately it was not available so we just called it a day. He had a good time so I’m happy, mission accomplished and I think we’ll have another future gun owner. 😉 After I dropped him off, I spent the rest of the day either cleaning my stuff or playing with Brandon…
I’m off this week (woo) though I do have to attend to some “work stuff” here and there, I was on a call earlier but anyway today was pretty darn leisurely which was nice. Went to the Toronto Premium Outlet mall with Maggie to do some shopping and $2,600 later we were done… LOL to be fair she wasn’t buying stuff for herself but rather started yet another side business, buying things here and selling them online in China so she needed the goods to ship there, anyway this is something I think has potential and she’s going to look further into it.
Went out for lunch which was yummy mmm I love won ton noodles. In the afternoon I mowed the lawn which was pretty darn long but I have an excuse because I haven’t had an opportunity due to all the rain we’ve received. Time ran short but later in the week when the weather is alright, I’m going to snip the low hanging branches on the pine tree in the backyard and reclaim some space so Brandon and I can run around even more. 😉
Woo new recoil spring assembly!
My Gen 4 Glock 17 is one of the earlier models which came equipped with a stiffer recoil spring assembly designed for both 9mm & .40 S&W ammunition, which was subsequently recalled. I saw on CGN that other Canadians got Glock directly to replace their springs but I didn’t have much luck so after a month of nothing, I called their Canadian distributor Korth Group and they sent me a replacement one free of charge!
The new one is marked 042 and it’s slightly lighter in tension weight when I rack the Glock slide, whether this means I’ll have more felt recoil I don’t know. Korth Group didn’t ask for the old RSA back so I guess I’ll keep it as a spare, now all I need to get is the newly revised ejector and I’m set (I have the old 336 model). Case ejection should be more consistent with just the new RSA or at least that’s what I read but I’ll report back if something goes wrong.
Too bad it’s suppose to rain heavily tomorrow as that limits what I can do and I also have a call at 1PM for work so blah, I guess I’ll just do what I can to relax at home.
