Productive busy day

I guess this blog post really starts yesterday but since it was Brandon’s birthday I didn’t want to post anything else, anyway we have a lot of cardboard so I packed everything up and brought it to the dump. LOL I laughed when I was in the car, a Mini Cooper is not a good car to move crap in. 😉

Maggie came with for the ride (she starts her new job next week) and boy is that place smelly!  Anyway after I dropped off the recycling, I went to Al Flaherty’s to pick up a some ammo boxes and a CSA vz58 muzzle brake.  The rifle is pretty soft shooting already but I figure if I could make myself more efficient why not, it’s not expensive anyway. 🙂  We then went to Home Depot to pick up painting supplies then came home.

Today after we dropped Brandon off at Chinese school, I sanded the ceiling in the upper bathroom because some of the paint was starting to peel.  Last week I asked Laura how difficult a job it would be, she gave me some tips and god it’s tiring!  I texted her later to say she must be nuts if she enjoys doing this type of thing on her spare time, but yeah after about 45 minutes of sanding certain spots it was ready to be painted.  That’s an area that I suck in (I’m not that handy) but have to say I did a rather good job. 🙂  Just in time, we’ll have a few kids over to play on Saturday and the ceiling has been bugging me for a while.

In the afternoon I dropped my mom and aunt Chrissie at the bus terminal at HWY 7 & Yonge, they’re going on a trip to Europe for 10 days and for some reason didn’t want me to take them all the way to the airport…  Afterwards I went to Shoppers to pick up a package and woo it was a Mossberg 590A1 18.5″ barrel shotgun. 🙂  Yes I already have a Mossberg 500 SPX but I’ve always wanted the 590A1 because it’s the mil spec model and I traded a Glock 22 I purchased last month (bought the Glock because it was a steal and definitely got the better deal in this trade) and woo I’m happy.

That’s it’s stockish form, also included was a 2 shell extension, an upgraded S&J shell follower, a GG&G forward rail mount an enlarged safety (which I swapped for the original because I think it looks better), a Mesa 6 shell side caddy (which I also removed, prefer velcro) and a Mesa grip/stock combo.  The thing is noticeably heavier than my 500 SPX thanks to the thicker profile barrel and I can’t wait to shoot the thing tomorrow.  I’m on the fence about the Mesa grip/stock, while I think it makes the shotgun look badass, I might try a regular rifled stock because I don’t like how far down I have to angle my head to use the ghost ring sights.

That’s pretty much it, packing my guns for tomorrow and it should be a good day. 🙂
