New mini RDS!

So for the longest time I had a NcStar mini red dot Docter clone optic on top of the Elcan SpecterDR, mainly because it wouldn’t hurt as much if it were shot out compared to a real Docter sight when playing airsoft but for the RS world it just looks like an odd combination.

I’ve wanted a real Docter for quite some time but they’re hard to find in Canada I was impatient and purchased a Burris FastFire III.  It’s about half the price of the German made optic but Burris is no slouch in the world of real guns and the reviews on the FastFire III have been generally pretty positive so I decided to take the risk.

As you can see I was a genius and left the store with the 8 moa version instead of the 3.5 moa one but for close up work say within 25 yards or so it shouldn’t matter too much.  The NcStar optic was also 8 moa so I’m use to the size and shot quite well up to around 50 yards with combat accuracy.  The 3.5 moa dot would allow me to be tighter but if I’m ever in a situation where that makes a difference I’d probably be in a lot of trouble and have more important things to worry about.

Anyway I’m going to the range on Monday so I’m looking forward to putting the Burris FastFire III through its paces.
