So the Ottawa press jumped on city councillor Jody Mitic because he posted on twitter some pictures of his new guns and I don’t see a problem.  Apparently there was a shooting but I don’t see how it’s related, first criminals don’t buy their guns legally and it’s akin to not talking about cars because of drunk drivers.

Mitic shared the image of the two guns, one for his wife and one for him, on March 10, two days after Ottawa’s fifth homicide of 2016.

Ottawa Sun columnist Sue Sherring wrote a column about Mitic’s tweet, saying it was “perhaps not the most sensitive of timing” for a civic leader who should be sharing “the load of the city’s fight.”

Shooting guns is a hobby I enjoy too and I’m not ashamed of it, I post pictures of my guns and range trips all the time and it’s my right.  I don’t see a reason why any legal gun owner should self censor if they’re following the rules.  Perhaps we as a society should really stop worrying about what other people do and enjoy our lives more.
