So last night after about 2 hours of negotiations Maggie and I sold our townhouse for $385.5k, lower than our asking price of $399k but still much better than our purchase price of $292.5k 2 1/2 years ago. ๐ The original offer was above my drop dead price of $380k so we were happy but the stickler was that the young couple wanted to close in less than 60 days. That wouldn’t be possible for us so after a bit of negotiating we settled for around a 75 day closing.
Of course the house is still pending mortgage approval (we were told they have a preapproval already), home inspection and status certificate but I don’t think we’ll have any problems there. I found I could relate to the couple selling, they’re young professionals looking at their first home (before kids) and I think they’ll be happy. It served us quite nicely and I hope that it’s the home they love too.
It’s going to be tight finding a new place but the search begins tonight! This is the fun albeit stressful portion of things, will pass along some updates when I get them. ๐
Congratz, Colin. So you will find your new home now?
That’s the plan! ๐ Looked at 4 houses last night and will go check out another 4 or 5 tonight. ๐
In Bayview & Eglinton Area?
Yesterday we looked around our area because of the time (Maggie gets home late) but on the weekend we’ll be looking all over the city.
