So as I’m walking towards my car (about 40′ away from it) at the Downsview TTC subway station parking lot, I see this Volkswagen SUV speed off and I noticed that the female driver had a “funny look” on her face. I thought nothing of it till I reached my car and realized that this bitch backed right into the side of my Toyota Matrix! Not only did she dent the driver side door, she also managed to knock off my driver side mirror…
As I watched the SUV exit the parking lot, my first instinct was to jump into my car and chase her down but on second thought I knew it wasn’t a good idea. Luckily there were two witnesses to the accident, one happen to take down the license plate number and after I grabbed that and their contact information, I headed to the closest collision service center. I filled out the collision report along with a police report for the hit and run so hopefully they’ll catch this bitch and charge her with something.
The sticker is the police collision sticker. When I came home I noticed a leak under my car as well but after talking to Stephen it may be condensation from the AC… I guess I’ll see tomorrow. I have never seen a puddle of water like that under my car previously in the last 2 1/2 years of owning it. The collision report estimate (from the police officer on duty) is $1,500 and according to my insurance if I’m found to be not at fault (obviously I’m not at fault…) then I don’t have to pay my $1,000 deductible.
I guess the good news is no one was hurt but man it’s super frustrating… Perhaps I’ll test out the tempered glass breaker on that woman’s car if I ever see it again.
