CA M15A4 CQB Damage Report

Well after opening up the CA M15A4 CQB, it looks like I did more damage to the gun than I initially suspected. The brunt of the damage was actually inside the mechbox (which is a surprise) and the broken parts include the nozzle, cylinder head and spring guide. Good thing those parts are relatively cheap and easy to replace, the hard thing will be finding the buffer tube screw which attaches the sliding crane stock to the receiver. Externally things look pretty good, I did lose the bolt catch but that’s also an inexpensive replacement.

I didn’t take a picture of the spring guide because I didn’t notice that one till later, the damage is very subtle. Thank god for Charlene, she helped me identify the screw so tracking it down at Canadian Tire should be easier.

While inside the mechbox I noticed that the Guarder Polycarbonate piston suffered from the same teeth wearing problem that affected my stock piston.

Despite wearing down the first three teeth almost completely the gun had no problems firing. I guess I’ll have to figure out where the timing issue is, whether it’s a gear thing or something else… Oh well with a bit of luck the CA M15A4 CQB will be ready in time for my ATQ3 class on Sunday. 😉

On a more positive note, I finished Rainbow Six: Las Vegas (great game but it’ll kill your system) so now I have more time to tweak. 🙂
