Sorry for the lack of updates, just busy with work, getting my gear ready for QuickPass (a national level airsoft game in Quebec) and playing videogames. Anyway I stumbled upon this and thought it was pretty cool, could Pluto’s moon Charon have life under its surface? Certainly very interesting…
This mixture acts like an anti-freeze, allowing water to stay liquid at colder temperatures (-97° Celsius) than otherwise possible. The team calculates that deep inside the moon, heat from the radioactive decay of elements such as potassium-40 keep temperatures at about -73° C. “So you could keep a liquid ocean there, even at pretty cold temperatures,” Cook says.

It would certainly be exciting if life was found out there, the chances of contamination from Earth is very low! 😀
