A wet and wild game!

On Saturday some of the guys and I hit the Humanity’s Hammer game out at the Durham Tag field and man it was err interesting. On the way to the field, I remarked to Stephen that I was happy the rain was light and misty, not big fat rain and well as you guess about 30 seconds after I mentioned that, it started to come down hard! Good thing by game time the rain subsided and we were greeted by beautiful blue skies.

Our team was outnumbered 2-1 (~20 vs 50) and it looked like we’d have a tough day ahead of us, luckily we had a secret weapon. 😉 TTAC3 Brian was at the game and he took charge of our team melding us into an efficient fighting force. It was amazing our team worked so well together, that we battled the other side on even terms in every engagement. In fact by the day’s end our side racked up almost double the points of the other team! It really goes to show you that team work and experience is more important than the number of bodies one side has.

For the most part the weather held out, except at the very end when the monsoon hit, everyone was completely drenched and the BB sized hail which rained down on us was a fitting way to end the game. Water even got in my 5.11 waterproof boots (from running down my legs)!

After the game the guys, Brian and myself went out to eat and to recant the tales of our success and that was a lot of fun. 😀 I was rather fortunate, on Saturday I was shot in the lips but it could have been worse since at the time I was barking orders to my squad mates, could have easily lost my two front teeth! Perhaps it’s time to invest in some sort of mouth protection…

Here’s a picture of the GHOSTS and a couple of others before the game, don’t we look pretty? 😉 Overall a great game and I definitely look forward to the next one that the Rangers host.
