So it’s going to be John McCain VS Barack Obama now that the Democratic presidential nomination process has come to a close. Senator Obama is definitely my choice but then again that doesn’t count for much since I’m not an American citizen. 😉 I absolutely love his promise of hope and change, it’s refreshing compared to the typical overdone Republican attack/negative ads.
Perhaps Barack Obama is naïve but considering the world view of the United States, right now anything is better than the status quo. War and force can only get you so far, to truly get what one wants, there must be dialog even if it’s with your enemies.
It’s certainly an exciting time for US politics and I for one will be watching on the side lines with a bag of popcorn. Get ready for the silly season to start up let’s hope there isn’t too much talk about god, he/she/it doesn’t matter because they can’t vote. 😉
Well don’t get too optimistic. He’s already stepped up the pro-Israel rhetoric including statements like (paraphrased) “An undivided Jerusalem is and always will be the capital of Israel” and “We will continue to stand behind our ally Israel militarily” yadda yadda.
The more things change, the more they stay the same. I’m still rooting for Nader.
Yes I heard his speech at the AIPAC yesterday, I’m not surprised I mean the Jewish lobby group in the US is very strong. Hopefully though he’ll back up his words with diplomacy rather than typical US saber rattling.
