Well don’t I feel like an idiot now. Many years ago when I purchased my Surefire Scout, I was told that it was M600c but I didn’t investigate the markings on the head till recently and while the KL4 does have ~200 lumens in output, it’s actuallyfor the M600a which is designed as a close quarters floodlight. Anything past say 10 meters and it’s useless and I’ve been frustrated with that thing for years! Anyway a couple of weeks ago I find out that the M600c is marked KX2C and since the 500 & 600 lumen models of the Scout are now available, some people are selling their old parts so I snapped one up for less than $100.
Ahh what a difference, now I have a nicely defined spot that’ll reach out some distance. I don’t play airsoft anymore but I can’t wait to test the light next time I go night shooting and with that said I have to do it soon! 😀
Surefire is a great company. I mainly shoot in the daytime, is that not the case up in your area? I guess since you invested in so many lights I have to assume that you do a lot of night shoots.
I mainly shoot during the day too but I’d like to shoot more at night. My love of flashlights comes from my airsoft days when I use to play a lot at night, those were fun times but shooting my real guns at night is even more. With night vision and IR lasers, haha it’s a blast. 😀
OMG, you’re a Gear Head? I should have guessed this was the case given how many guns you buy. I’m one to talk, I crave guns myself.
Haha and I’ve only been shooting real guns for 2 odd years. 🙂 I don’t have the space for a ton of guns so I’ll buy fun supporting stuff for them too. 🙂
